FFMag's Who's That Blogger? fashion series spotlights talented and unique fashion bloggers. We love the originality of fashion’s most diverse group and decided to profile Chicago’s (and the world’s!) most noteworthy bloggers. This week, we are very excited to feature one of the funniest and most authentic bloggers on the Web: Dana Weiss who runs Possessionista, a blog for the fashionably compulsive. Weiss is wildly popular among her readers thanks to a wicked sense of humor and disarming honesty, and in three short years has also managed to become a beloved social media maven. More than 21,000 Twitter followers covet everything Possessionista covets, and now readers can also find her on OpenSky as one of the first fashion blogger pop-up store curators. We caught up with the busy mom and uncovered {some of} her style secrets.

FFMag: Tell our readers a little about yourself. How did you get into blogging?
Possessionista: It was an accident. I was documenting the clothes I saw celebrities and characters wearing on TV and people started finding me on Google.
FFMag: What are your style words to live by?
P: Be comfortable in what you wear. If you’re tugging on your clothes it doesn’t matter how cute they are.
FFMag: How would you describe the style scene in Chicago?
P: Changing. I think people are taking more risks and trying out more personal style.
FFMag: Can you tell us more about your collaboration with OpenSky?
P: They had this idea that they wanted to do a blogger pop up shop, but they're not convinced that bloggers can pull the same kinds of numbers; so I'm the guinea pig. if I can get 1000+ sign ups then other bloggers will get the chance, so I really want this to be a success - not only for myself, but because there are so many amazing fashion eyes out there that given this kind of platform can really influence shoppers.
FFMag: Tell us something about yourself that we might not expect.
P: I drive a minivan.
FFMag: Who are your style icons?
P: I don’t really have one. I like anyone who just does their own thing. Rachel Zoe. Emily Schuman at Cupcakes and Cashmere. Little girls who leave their houses in tutus and glitter Mary Janes.
FFMag: Who are your favorite designers?
P: I’m not really a label girl. Is that weird? I just wear what looks good. I shop a lot at Aritzia. And Nordstrom.

FFMag: What is your fantasy purchase?
P: I’d like to buy a Balenciaga motorcycle bag in every color, and go treat them like days-of-the-week underwear.
FFMag: What is the one item that every woman should have in her closet?
P: A pair of jeans that makes her feel super hot.
FFMag: What piece of jewelry should every woman have?
P: Obnoxiously giant diamond earrings.
FFMag: Finish the sentence: If I was not in the fashion industry I would be…
P: A stay at home mom. That’s what I really do.
FFMag: Are there any trends you are particularly inspired by this season?
P: I love colored denim. And I am so happy flares are back. I have every shade of the Citizens bell bottoms.
FFMag: What’s your secret cheapie?
P: Drugstore mascara. And super trendy tops from Forever21 that I know I’ll only wear once.
FFMag: And what do you usually splurge on?
P: Haircuts! If your hair looks bad, it doesn’t matter what you wear.
FFMag: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Why?
P: Cupcakes and Cashmere. She has great personal style. PS I Made This. Erika is so inspiring.
FFMag: What is the key to a great party?
P: Great music and fun people. If no one is interacting, it doesn’t matter how great the food and décor is.
FFMag: What is your signature scent?
P: Goddess. It’s made by this little boutique in Highland Park and I put it on before bed so my pillow smells good.
FFMag: What’s your favorite… Gadget?
P: My iPhone. It’s like an appendage.
FFMag: Hostess gift?
P: I’m really into these little flowers in a can right now. You just add water and they bloom.
FFMag: Comfort food?
P: French fries. Is there anything better?
FFMag Wine?
R: I’m into Nobilo. It’s a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It’s not super expensive and I think it’s really grapefruity.
FFMag: Pastime?
R: Playing with my kids. I have 2 boys!
